INDIA’s 8-year-old child environmental activist Licypriya Kangujam often dubbed as India’s Greta has completed one year of protests in front of Indian Parliament on Friday (7).

“Today completed my 1 year of protests in front of the Parliament House of India to pass a climate change law in India. Delhi Police and other securities threatened me to detain/arrest if not leaving the place. But I did it. I told them, “Arrest me if you can!”,” Licypriya tweeted with pictures.

She alleged that Police even attempted to delete the footage of the pictures and the videos.

“But we didn’t stop,” she said.

In another tweet, she said: “Even they took away, BBCWorld journalists ID card who was covering my protest. Later they released. We will not stop until our goal achieved.”

Kangujam concluded tweets about the protest saying: “We are unstoppable. Another world is possible. Change is possible.”

Licypriya Kangujam was born on 2 October 2011 in Bashikhong, Manipur, India, the eldest daughter of KK Singh and Bidyarani Devi Kangujam Ongbi. Kangujam began raising her voice to combat climate change and disaster risk reduction when she was seven.
